Field Services

Field Services are equally valuable for deploying oceanographic instrumentation, conducting beach profile surveys, and collecting sediment and biota samples for assessing the nature and extent of contamination and environmental impacts. Woods Hole Group field personnel are experienced, safety-trained, and board certified, including our in-house AAUS accredited dive team. Field services include:

• Wetland Delineation & Marine Biological Surveys

The ocean is restless and sometimes violently stormy

It can toss instruments with amazing forces that can wrench them from their moorings. Seawater is corrosive. It degrades instruments and finds the thinnest breaches in electrical insulation.

How can such hazards be anticipated and planned for?
