The Coastal Group boasts primarily Ph.D. and Masters level coastal engineers and coastal geologists, who are dedicated to applying their understanding of complex coastal processes to solving real world problems.  The staff’s experience and background is diverse, providing the Coastal Group with the unique ability to service a wide range of Clients, including commercial companies, government entities at the local, state, and federal levels, as well as private homeowners and associations. The Coastal Group’s strength is in the planning, design, and permitting of challenging multi-disciplinary projects in the coastal environment, but the staff often consults on more routine, single-faceted projects as well.  For multi-disciplinary projects, the Coastal Group works cooperatively with the other Woods Hole Group divisions, as well as outside teaming partners when necessary.
