GEF Project on the Mediterranean Sea, United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). Served as a consultant on the development and revision of the Transboundary Diagnostic Analysis (TDA) for the Mediterranean Sea. GEF Project on the Volta River, United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). Served as a consultant on the development of the Transboundary Diagnostic Analysis (TDA) and Strategic Action Plan (SAP) for the Volta River. Traveled to the region and met with government representatives of Ghana, Benin, Togo, Cote dIvoire, Burkina Faso and Mali. GEF Project on the Gulf of Honduras, Inter-American Development Bank (IADB). Served as a consultant on the preparation of a Transboundary Diagnostic Analysis (TDA) and developed a program to protect the Gulf of Honduras from maritime and land-based activities. Traveled extensively through the region and met with representatives of Honduras, Guatemala and Belize. GEF Project on the Western Indian Ocean, United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). Served as a consultant on the development of a Project Document for the contaminant-focused marine environmental program in the Western Indian Ocean. Assisted in the development of the project budget and reporting requirements for the 11.4 million USD project. GEF Project on the Guinea Current Large Marine Ecosystem, United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). Served as a consultant on the development of the Transboundary Diagnostic Analysis (TDA) and Strategic Action Plan (SAP) for the Guinea Current Large Marine Ecosystem. Assisted in developing Project Brief for the program. Preliminary Assessment of Environmental Effects of the World Trade Center Attacks. Researched and was
lead author of a report on the environmental effects of the 9/11 attacks.
Evaluated government agency response to the environmental health aspects
of the disaster and offered recommendations for future actions. Conducted
interviews and gathered data on effects of the disaster and ensuing fires
on air and waterways in New York City and on the health of City residents.
Received international media recognition for the report, including interviews
by BBC News, USA Today, and the Washington Post and mention of the report
in a February 22, 2002, New York Times editorial.
Global
Environment Facility Project the Caspian Environmental Programme, United
Nations Development Programme.
Assisted
in the development of a GEF Transboundary Diagnostic Analysis (TDA) for
the Caspian Sea Environment Programme. Traveled in the region and met with
government representatives. Assisted in opening the CEP headquarters
in Azerbaijan.
Assisted
in the development and editing of project documents for UNDP/RBEC GEF Projects.
Edited and revised Enabling Activities documents and wrote project summaries
for publication. Tracked project progress.
Lake
Peipsi Project, Rural Women's Social and Economic Development in the Lake
Peipsi Region.
Developed
and drafted proposal for program funded by Phare LIEN Programme and United
Nations Development Programme. The program trained rural women in
the Lake Peipsi watershed in business skills and provided exchanges with
the Forum for Cooperation of Women in Sweden.
